Panasonic and Amazon Collaborate to Release Latest Lineup of 'Vieira' TVs Featuring Fire TV

Panasonic announced six series and 13 models of new 4K high-definition TVs equipped with Fire TV on May 8th. These TVs allow users to seamlessly search and watch TV broadcasts and video content from OTT services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. They are scheduled to be released sequentially starting June 21st.

Panasonic's new Fire TV-equipped TVs consist of the OLED TVs 'Z95A/Z90A/Z85A' and LCD TVs 'W95A/W90A/W80A', offering a variety of screen sizes ranging from 42 inches to 65 inches.

All models are equipped with Amazon's 'Fire TV' operating system, enabling users to select and watch OTT service content such as Amazon Prime Video and Netflix in the same way as regular TV broadcast content.

Panasonic has been consistently pursuing TV and internet integration, including YouTube support in 2008 and Firefox OS integration in 2015. With the TV internet connection rate exceeding 80% and OTT service usage exceeding 50%, the OTT functionality of TVs has become increasingly important. Due to the limitations of their existing proprietary operating systems, Panasonic decided to collaborate fully with Amazon this time.

Fire TV allows users to install various apps and provides a smooth user experience similar to a regular Fire TV. The home screen displays integrated TV programs and OTT service content, and creating personalized profiles provides a customized viewing experience.

Viera's proprietary features, such as 'Bansil Jumper Link', 'Past and Future Program Guide', and 'Media Access', will continue to be offered.

All series are equipped with a new AI high-definition engine, enhancing resolution and realism. This engine also effectively suppresses banding noise, which often occurs in OTT content, while maintaining precise image quality.

Among the OLED TVs, the Z95A series (65-inch model approximately 520,000 yen, 55-inch model approximately 370,000 yen) is a premium model with enhanced brightness, contrast, and spatial sound.

In the LCD TV lineup, the W95A series utilizes a mini LED backlight panel, the W90A uses a local dimming full-array backlight panel, and the W80A employs a local dimming backlight panel. The W95A and W90A also support 4K 144p input.
