Japan's Generative AI Chatbot Service "wrtn" Launches Official Mobile App "Return" for iOS

Return Technologies Japan has started offering the official mobile app "Return" for its generative AI chatbot service "wrtn (Return)" on the AppStore. Return is a generative AI chatbot service with 3 million global users, and all its features are completely free and unlimited.

A new feature, "Trend by AI," has been added, enabling real-time search using AI search as an engine. This feature selects and distributes trending news and topics, and you can use the chatbot function to ask AI any questions or curiosities you may have while reading the news.

The app version also includes the chatbot function of the web version of Return. This allows you to use AI search to ask for real-time information, large language models like GPT-4 Turbo, and image generation models like Stable DiffusionXL. Similar to the web version of Return, you can choose the generation model according to the situation, and pre-registered users can also use "Claude 3" (a generative AI model available only on the app), the latest model capable of image recognition.

Additionally, the "AI Character Feature" allows you to enjoy conversations with various AI characters, such as the friendly and cheerful "Kotoha" or the initially cold but kind-hearted "Tsumuda." You can also create your own AI character and use the chatbot function with the "AI Character Maker" feature.

The "Recommended Prompts" feature suggests example instructions for generative AI, making it helpful if you're struggling to write a prompt, such as "I want to ask AI something but don't know how to phrase it."

Furthermore, Return plans to soon integrate OpenAI's latest model, "GPT-4 omni," into both the web and mobile app versions. GPT-4 omni, announced by OpenAI on May 13 (local time), is a new type of AI that can be utilized by combining text input with voice, images, and videos. Return will initially integrate the text input function to quickly provide users with access to GPT-4 omni. The text function of GPT-4 omni provided by OpenAI has improved non-English language processing capabilities, with particular enhancements in Japanese support. Additionally, the generation speed has also been improved, resulting in response times approximately twice as fast as GPT-4 Turbo.

Return plans to customize and provide GPT-4 omni features tailored to the Japanese market for easier use. Return will continue to strive to make generative AI more accessible and convenient in everyday life.
